After a short detour for the incredible rescue attempt on nearby Nanga Parbat, Jarosław Botor (for personal reasons) suspended his participation in K2 expedition.

Today (7.02.2018) Adam Bielecki got hit in a head (with helmet on) by a free falling rock and injured on the way to C1 at 5,800m. He was assisted to base camp where his wounds were stitched. He is fine.

Again while approaching C1 yesterday, another free falling rock stroke Rafał Fron resulting in breaking his arm.

Due to safety concerns, the climbing activities are temporary suspended and alternate approach measured.

"K2. Pierwsza zimowa wyprawa" (K2. The First Winter Expeditions) - Andrzej Zawada, available on Feb, 14, 2018 (I believe currently only in Polish): https://ksiegarnia.wspinanie.pl/k2-pier ... p-700.html

"Denis Urubko, according to his convictions regarding the end of the winter season, decided to leave the Winter Expedition on K2.
This decision was accepted by the participants of the expedition, who did not see any further possibility of cooperation with Denis after his independent attempt to get the top."
