Sierra: hiking, scrambling, climbing

by pgoonghang » Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:09 am

I've been going light for the last couple of years, but have been preparing for what I hope will be a decent season this year. Once HWY 120 open for the season, I'm hoping for a bunch of weekend warrior stuff in the Sierra. I'm a bit rusty, so want to stick to class 3 or lower - which I prefer anyways. I'm not opposed to roping up for a class five route or two but it doesn't interest me as much. I love getting off the beaten trail and trying to tackle obscure Sierra peaks car to car.

Any takers?

I may be doing some of the same sort of stuff you are interested in... probably mostly overnight outings but I pack super light and use a small daypack even for that. Probably more obscure and less traveled areas mostly from Mammoth to Sonora Pass. Send me a note when it gets closer if interested.
