Wind River MANDATORY bear protocol

by WyomingSummits » Fri Jul 01, 2016 7:37 pm

It is now MANDATORY to hang your food a minimum of 10ft, or use a certified bear canister. Anyone caught not adhering to this will be fined. All of the Winds are now subject to this ruling.

If I'm in a hammock and hang it at least 10 feet in the air can I sleep with my food?

Thanks for this info. What jurisdiction(s) issued it? They'll want to get word out to the CDTC. Thru-hikers pretty much all sleep with their food through there.

Have there been incidents? I'd love to read more.

Good to know. This should be mentioned on the SP pages as well.
