Symmetry

Having just climbed Diamond Peak today, I couldn't help noticing in your photo the symmetry of this complex mountain. I had to think briefly about which was the summit, of course determining that with the morning light, south is on the left, so the summit ridge we climbed is on the left. Great shot!

Re: Symmetry

Thank you for the compliment. I had to look twice myself to determine the summit since this mountain can look very different depending on the vantage point.

By the way, congratulations on your completion of Washington's high points! I saw the article in the paper a few weeks ago and am duly impressed.

Best regards,

Don

Re: Symmetry

I assume you're talking about Terry Richard's article in the Oregonian since I'm not aware of any others. Terry himself was with a Mazama party that I just learned successfully summitted Bonanza yesterday (Friday), so he has only a couple more counties to go in Washington. -Bob

Great Perspective

I love these aerial shots. You've given me a much greater sense of the mountain's ridges. The last time I climbed Diamond I was eight and I'm itching to go back in the snow. I'll probably take that NE ridge.
