Great way to start the new year
Starting off the new year right with a fun adventure scramble with Mason. Got a bit cold downclimbing the mountain in the dark. Great night. Sunset from the summit was beautiful!
I can confirm the new signage.

Soon after leaving the Trailhead SW on the AZ Trail there is a new 2020 wooden sign at a junction indicating a trail to the left with the words "Picketpost Mountain TH 1.4". Do NOT turn left here. (I.e. Continue straight). At the next junction is the left turn sign to Picketpost Mountain summit. (I.e. Turn left off the Arizona Trail).
When the trail starts to steepen (I.e. Class 2+), you will see different colored arrows (Red, White, Dotted White) painted on to rocks, all taking you to the summit.
Last year there was an historic mailbox and iron loveseat bench on the summit. These items have been removed. :( (Taken down the mountain or thrown over the side by vandals?) However, someone has brought up a new black mailbox with the words "PICKETPOST MTN" emblazoned in large red letters. (Registration and comments are in the mailbox).

A little scramble.
Nice choice just 40 minutes south of Mesa. You get 2000 feet of gain in just under 2 miles so it's a good little workout. We had beautiful Nov. weather in the low 70's and maybe only 4 of 5 groups on the route.

Absolutely Beautiful
Loved it but could do away with the bench.

Great little mountain
I picked this mountain at the last minute, over my morning coffee. It looked fun and scenic and was nearby enough to our Arizona house. WOW! I loved this peak. Lovely scenery, surprisingly spicy scrambling in spots and bench at the summit to enjoy the views.

Going down is the hardest part
Ideal conditions - started off cloudy at or below 60 degrees. Nice breeze. Dry trail. Large group of us. Epic little peak!

Outstanding hike
I finally hiked this peak after so many years of putting it off. Tried in January 2009 and bailed due to time. Scrambly and loose in spots, but it went quick, and the views were amazing! Glad I did it.

Nice hike!
I really enjoyed this one. Nice scramble up high through the rocks. It was a nice clear day with outstanding views from the summit. Who dragged the bench up to the top? Several other parties on the trail so no solitude.

Valentines Day
Climbed with my wife on Valentines Day. Several other parties
on the trail. It is pretty easy to get a bit off route
on this one. Many, many entries in the register at top, mostly
from the Phoenix area. Someone should put some xeroxed AZ COHP
lists in the mailbox - folks who can climb this one can probably
handle that list.
