Route Climbed: Summit Trail Date Climbed: 12/25/05
I never knew that the name had been changed. Everyone in Phoenix seems to still call it Squaw Peak. Anyway, been up this one a few times, most recently to burn off some turkey on Christmas Day.

Squaw peak has had its name sanitized but its still a great little hike. Met a guy who said he does it every day and I asked him what was the hottest day he'd ever climbed it - he said 122 degrees! wow!
I climb this one usually several times when I'm in Phoenix - hottest day I've done it was 103 and that's plenty hot for me.
I attempted this hike in the Summer of 1994 and got about halfway to the top before turning back. I was not prepared for it. I did make the summit about a week later. There were a lot of hikers, and we had typical Phoenix weather: sunny and hotter than hell.

Did this one once and had no desire to do it again. I bagged it and thats all that matters to me. Suprising to see how many people don't reach the actual summit which is about 15 feet higher. I spent about an hour on top and not one person vetured over to the actual summit.

Route Climbed: Summit Trail Date Climbed: Dec. 24, 2004Have been to Phx. hundreds of times...this was my first time on Squaw Peak.
Amazed at the amount of people...seemed like I passed somebody every 10 seconds. I'll bet there were over a thousand climbers throughout the day.
Have never quite been on a trail like this before....seems almost paved with all the steps and rock formed trailway.
Great views from the top...make sure you summit by going to the rightmost peak...most people went left. There is a survey marker at the tippy top.
Great day hike, easy access, just not a real good place to get away.

Route Climbed: summit trail Date Climbed: manyThis is a good workout for those living in Phoenix provided you don't mind following a steady stream of people. Nice hike though overcrowded.
