This was one of the trips of the section Tuttlingen of the DAV (German Alpine Club). We had planned to trespass Pigne d'Arolla and Mont Blanc de Cheilon, but after the Pigne d'Arolla the weather turns bad (as every day in summer 2002 .... grrrrrr) and we have to abort the tour.

We tramped up the 1800m and were 10 mins early of his expected time of 4 hours.
Great ski route as it starts high from Arolla already, and can be skiied late in season.
Eating Ice cream with the filthy rich on Lac Leman by 14:00. Cheapest Movenpick ice cream in CH, Bruce insists.

we climbed the normal route and traversed him to the west side.
8 years later i climbed him again but this time via the nord face.
A splendid face for starters in ice faces.
