A particularly striking formation along the ridge between MacLeod Peak and Corner Peak. Open Door Mountain is in the background.

These are the kinds of things I love...

...about the wilderness. Sure anyone can drive to the famous National Parks, etc. and snap a photo from the road. But imagine by comparison how many people have seen this!

Neat photo, thanks for sharing!

Re: These are the kinds of things I love...

Thanks, Brad. Excellent points. Honestly, I rarely take pictures anymore from roads and overlooks. They've just stopped being interesting to me.

Nature

Is a ridiculously creative and totally wacky lady. Seriously, how does something this awesome occur on its own? Nature, that's how. Great shot, and yeah, definitely thanks for sharing.

the finger

I got to see this with you in person, and it is a great reminder of a great day in the wilds. I hope we get to do it again in 2011.

Re: the finger

I am flying into Jackson in August and should have some weekend climbs lined up fairly close to you. Plans will solidify soon, and I'll let you know. Hopefully, you can join me. That day in the Gros Ventres still stands out as one of my favorites ever.
