Pillar

Pillar

The not too stable looking pillar that is just north of the saddle between 12825 and 12566. Upper Red Castle Lake and the two lobed Red Castle Lake are on the right. Stone BM (12707') is the pointy peak behind the broad saddle on the right. If you look carefully you can see the pillar just left of the lowest looking saddle in this picture. September-2-2010

So Zee ..

You managed to scramble up all the loose rock
(scree slope) to get this picture looking
down at Upper Red Castle Lake?

Cool pillar! !

They don't make pillars like that anymore..

Re: So Zee ..

Yes, I clawed my way up the east side. It was annoying loose. Doing it on snow would have been much better. It was easy/stable from the saddle to the summit of 12566.

Love that place

Have not been up to Red Castle since I was a teenager. I have a lot of great memories here! Thanks for the great pic.

Geez, Zee ...

Two photos (in a row) as Photo of the Day ???

I'm going to have to start calling you :

"Mrs. POTD"

I'm easy.. folks on SP can call me anything
they like, except "Late for Dinner!"

Re: Geez, Zee ...

You can call me anything you'd like as long as it doesn't start with a B.
