first of two
The rain stopped at about 215 PM and I was on the trail shortly after that. Took an hour and forty five minutes to reach the summit, then I headed downslope on the Ridge Trail to Table.
About 28 degrees when I started, but thankfully the uphill got me warmed up. Nice water features along the trail and some nice views near the top. Peak is tree-covered, so nothing much there. Hiked the ridge to Table Rock Mtn and back down. Missed fall colors by a few weeks.
unless the leaves are off the trees. They've rerouted the Pinnacle Mountain trail so that it doesn't go up from Lower Mills Creek, which is a pity. But Bald Rock is still on the trail!

Whew
Love this climb, and really easy to get to (for me) - this date was the hardest: up Pinnacle, over to Table Rock and back down. I like descending Pinnacle better. Cool last 1/2 mile to summit....

Much easier than Table Rock
I enjoyed this hike. Bald Rocks was definitely a place I could stay at all day. The last stretch to the summit was pretty steep and the final destination turned out to be a bit of a disappointment-just trees.

Pinnacle Mountain Trail
My wife and I were just looking for a way to spend the afternoon. It was a nice hike, very easy. The views from the rocks were pretty good, you have a clear line of sight over to table rock mountain. All in all it was a nice hike.

I went down to SC to bag Table Rock Mountain and to see if I could nab Pinnacle Mountain while I was at it. It was all done as a day hike and I figured I had time to bag 'em both. Round trip was about twelve miles, and total elevation gain was, I think, around 4K feet (maybe closer to 3,600--but I'll have to get out maps and look). My only problem was that I ran out of water, so I was pretty dry by the time I got down. Drank up about two liters of water really fast.
If you're going, I'd suggest hitting Table Rock first, or at least going up the Table Rock Trail, hitting the Ridge Trail, and crossing over to Pinnacle. Going straight up the Pinnacle Mountain Trail is a toughie. Very straightforward and quite steep.
