Pizzo Valgrande, 2529m. the north flank seen from the dam of Lago Davino. Cairasca valley. Italy. The normal route to the summit follows the trail to Scroso pass from this location, before reaching the pass you can get on top by the easy ridge on the right.

Heila larry! The impound of Davino is built up for feeding a power plant.
This valleys belongs to the wide Ossola area, where at the beginning of '900 the ENEL society built up a lot of impounds to increment the production of hydroelectric energy.
The area around the lake is further more a little arid so here the story is different from the one of "lago dei cavalli"!
Anyhow the wide plane below, the one of alpe Veglia is a lovely sprawl of green meadows!
