nice shot

but I guess it will be a while before this gully is in condition for ice climbing. looks like a great ride though.



mind if I ask what route did you guys use for the ascent ?

note this is not the left gully on the descent. that I think is usually the ice climbing chute. this is the lefthand gully looking up from the hotlum icefall.



we ascended the H-W "ridge", then contoured left up the wide chute to the summit. On the way down, we traversed left off the summit to the top of the hotlum headwall, then two of us dropped the chute immediately to skiers right of the headwall (seen here) and the other two dropped the wider chute right next to it.

the more well-known ice gully is to the climber's right / skier's left of the headwall (haven't climbed it yet), but there is also one that forms to the climber's left / skier's right (climbed it last year). Nice work !
