Description

I am looking to put together a small team to climb Aconcagua without a guide. I will try to plan this for about 21 days in the time between Dec. 20, 2010 and Jan. 20, 2011. I've climbed in Colorado in summer and winter for 8 years and I climbed Mt. Rainier twice (1 summit). I train an average of 3-5 days a week with occasional climbs of 14ers and training on smaller mountains. I have been thinking to attempt a solo climb but I feel it is much more fun to climb with partners. It's good for mental health on the mountain!

Hi,

I am looking at Aconcagua, The Polish Glacier route in January 2010 and looking for partners. I did the "Normal Route" solo in January of this year.

Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

Cheers,

Siggi

I attempted Aconcagua in 2008 and failed right below the Canaleta. It was just too cold and I was running out of steam. I was thinking of starting earlier though, sometimes around early december. I used Inka expediciones on my last expedition, but found that the mountain is easy enough that you don't really need a guide. PM me if you're even considering about making the trip earlier.

I'm planning to climb Aconcagua at year end and looking for others who want to do the same. Send me a email and we can discuss the possibilities. Aconcagua is not technical so it is perfect for those in great shape wanting to take it to the next level...

I am planning a trip. Right now it just myself and one other. We are looking for one or two more people. Depending on how many people are interested, we can get a few teams. Let me know -- jtcarreno@gmail.com. Thanks.

Are you still planning this trip and do you have dates set yet? I am still looking to join a team for a climb this year.

Maverick77Aconcagua, here we come!
Good post, this appears to be a popular trip. With the summit of Everest under my belt (27/05/2007) I am looking for some entertainment in via the more scenic Polish Glacier, ie. not the crowded normal route. Been there, seen that in 2006, but run out of good weather and time at 6500m, so it's time for a bit of nostalgia:-) Looking at either 3-22 Dec, or first weeks of January, depending on logistics. Plse drop me a line if interested to join, and we can coordinate further. Cheers!
