Description
I started learning how to ice climb last winter, taking three courses through EMS. We climbed the Standard Route at Frankenstein Cliffs and Lower and Upper Hitchcock Gully. It was great. I don't have any friends who climb ice, so I am now in the awkward situation of needing more experienced climbing partners who can help me along in my progression. This coming winter, I want to expand upon the things I learned last winter through toproping, as well as following on waterfall ice and gullies, trying to get to the point where I can lead. These are my short-term goals. To be honest, aside from being a competent follower and having a 4WD vehicle, all I can really bring to the table is a good attitude. My ideal climbing partner would be someone with more experience than me who needs somebody to go on outings with, but also doesn't mind the role of teacher.
