Description

I'm looking to connect with other San Diegans interested in mountaineering. My goals include:

* Extending my regional backpacking to 4-seasons (Jacinto, Baldy, Gorgonio, Whitney).
* Exploring more contiguous US 10ers and 14ers.
* Developing more advanced mountaineering skills via self-study, and guided courses such as those offered on Rainier.
* Attempting some of the Seven Summits. Kilimanjaro this year or relatively soon, and perhaps Elbrus and Aconcagua after that.
* If that's all going well--and finances, circumstances and ability permit--then perhaps eventually Denali, Vinson Massif and beyond.

I'm not an elite athlete, adrenaline junky, nor am I looking to set any records. I strive to be well prepared, safety-conscious, and enjoy the journey. That said I love the mountains, and am willing to work hard to take that interest higher and farther. I'm hoping to find one or more partners with compatible goals, budget and skill-level. Contact me via my profile or comment if interested. I'd be glad to share more details about myself and my experience to date.

Thanks,

Ian

Hi,
I'm here in SD also. Climb a lot in Sierra as well as all around SD. Around SD I go after the 10k ft peaks and SDC, HPS, LPC and DPS lists. If it ever snows in CA again, would you be interested in an ascent of Mt Shasta Casaval Ridge? I'm looking at trying it in one push....car to car by the end of Spring. But the sooner the better.

I'm in Escondido. All the good mountaineering is a long drive from here, so local partners are good. I'm fairly experienced and would like to do some climbs in the Sierra and Cascades this spring. I'd be up for some backpacking in Gorgonio and Jacinto wilderness too. I've done some there, but there's trails I haven't been on.

I live in Del Mar and was contemplating a trip to the Mexican Volcano's this Spring, probably March or April

Let me know if you have any interest.

NachosGrandeInterested as well

Hello,

I'm in Nevada, but I can meet at a rendezvous point. The Eastern Sierras are about 4 to 5 hours away from me, and I'm interested in the 13 and 14'ers. I have done some of them including Whitney. I'm looking to do Shasta. Did Rainier guided by RMI, and would like to climb that one again without guide service. Also, interested in ice-climbing, but only just started on that sport. Looking to do more.

I'm in SD as well, transitioning from backpacking to climbing and mountaineering, do a lot of Anza-Borrego desert trips, looking for a partner for overnight trips.

Hey guys,

I will be in San Diego form Jan to June (as an exchange student) I want to climb mountains along the West Coast. Starting with San Jacinto (Snow Creek route in winter) and then going north.

I have a lot of mountain experience in the Chilean Andes: up to 55° snow/ice climb, rapelling, glacier transit and crevasse rescue.

Contact me if you are interested!
