also Will Thrall. Lots of bugs.
Buckhorn Campground closed the day before, so that added about a mile and a few hundred feet elevation gain to the hike. These canyons seem like great habitat for some big cats, so I found myself looking over my shoulder quite a bit. Picture perfect weather and empty trails. Trails were well-marked and easy to find my way to the destination.
Explored the area around PV Ridge and now parts of the ridge are colored pink from fire retardant from a recent fire on the ridge.
Along with Will Thrall
5 peak out and back hitting Mt. Williamson, Goodykoontz Peak, Pallett Mountain, Will Thrall, and Pleasant View Ridge (Pallett BM).
Out and back from Islip Saddle tagging Williamson, Goodykoontz, Pallett, Will Thrall, and Pleasant View Ridge along the way.
What a beautiful day it turned out to be. My friend Keri, her dog Squiggles & myself hiked from Cima Mesa in Juniper Hills all the way to the top of the mountain. We grew up in Juniper Hills so we are no stranger to these mountains. If anyone want's to go next time just let me know. The more the funnier it is. Until next, have a wonderful hiking experience.
One of three peaks we did today (Will Thrall/Pleasant View Ridge/Pallett Mountain). Though the weather was starting to look threatening, we got down before the lightning and thunder started rolling through. Great hike!
With a host of other nearby HPS peaks, a fine day of hiking. Trip Report
what clear day, could see snow-capped Sierras
Nice hike from Burkhart Saddle via Will Thrall Peak. Great views.
Did this one about four years ago from Buckhorn with Will Thrall.
After recovering from East Clyde Spires climb two days earlier
First climbed Will Thrall and then onto this one followed by Pallet. A great day to be out.
A nice, hot climb of Williamson, Pallett, Will Thrall and Pleasant View Ridge. Happy Canada Day!
Here is my GPS track viewable in Google Earth and Google Map
All of the named summits as well as those high points not named along this ridge make for great hiking. I've approached the summit of Pleasant View Ridge both from Buckhorn Campground and from Mt. Williamson.
