Sunset  Sucess!

A great place to view a sunset. The boulder hopping was a bit tedious but well worth it. The air was fresh at the summit!

first hike of autumn  Sucess!

up to Red Pine Lake, skirted north of upper lake to 10718, descended couloir between the 2 twin peaks down to White Pine Lake. I went slowly and carefully down couloir, sticking to solid granite with good hand/footholds - but should have had a helmet. Beautiful fall color hike! Encountered a little snow remaining from storm days ago.

Came up here on a geocaching loop that started in White Pine and ended in Red Pine.

Last of the Day  Sucess!

Did a loop starting with Hogum Divide (the obelisk), then UPWOP, Pfeifferhorn and finishing with this summit. As stated below, it is marked as Thunder Mountain on the USGS topo map which I always found a bit confusing since it was only a couple ridges away from the much more prominent North and South Thunder mountains.

One of my favorites  Sucess!

I've done this Peak 10 or so times, not counting a few days that I lapped ski runs on it. Glad to see someone else calls it lake Peak, some maps have it marked as Thunder Mountain as it is listed with John's List. I like to climb via White Pine up the north ridge, travese it to the south and descend to upper Red Pine Lake making a nice loop. The east and north slopes can be great skiing if conditions are safe, I've got a few nice ski photo's I'll attach to the page.
