Point 13,641 and Mount Bierstadt

Point 13,641 is the tower on the right of the picture. It is the crux of the East Ridge of Mount Bierstadt. The fourteener's summit is in the background, left of center. June 2005.

Looks LIke Fun!

Thanks for putting the route up, Brenta. I'll get around to doing it some day. I like your idea of doing it from the road (which is how I've done Rosalie and Epaulet in the past). Those are walks, though, not climbs.

Re: Looks LIke Fun!

Yes, it was fun. I definitely liked the East Ridge better than the Sawtooth. The idea of starting from the road is in Roach's Fourteener book. His comment about minimizing the walking while maximizing the excitement proved a lure hard to resist.

Re: Looks LIke Fun!

Yes-I've been aware of the option for years. It's one of those things I always forget about, though. Thanks for sparking my dim memory!
