First rope team on the traverse. Icy in the initial slopes but super dry on the rest due to extreme summer this year.
Together with my friend Mark (HOL) we climbed the NE-flank and enjoyed the great views of the marvellous sourroundings.
Did as warmup to Arete Cosmiques. Very crowded our day, ended up waiting for a total of over an hour at various cruxes. Ended up bypassing one on the (third?) sub-peak because it was a traffic jam and we saw rocks getting kicked down. There was an alternate traverse below and to the right.
It was an easy route, so we made our own variation. We skipped the first summit and went straight up the mixed terrain to the second summit.
Very nice route with few objective dangers.
Very easy route.
climbed it before heading to la fourche bivouac later that day.
We climbed the Point Lachenal and also the 2nd summit after weeks of bad weather in the Alps but the conditions to climb both summits were good. Only at the edge of the glacier and the point Lachenal the swowbridge were quite tin and i fell until my shoulders in crevasse.
I Climbed with the Guide Michel Bordet a direct route to the base of the highest summit and made a diagonal on mixed terrain to arrive on the very top wich was a narrow cornice at this spring.
Maybe AD grade.
beatiful summit with great vieaws of Tacul and Geant.
Jonás Cruces climbing the Crux pitch.More Pictures of the CONTAMINE ascent to Pointe Lachenal
This was my very first summit ever, back in 2002.
Climbed with Miles Smart.
Did a very easy route from northside during our acclimatising day. Very nice views from the top.
The crux pitch probably the best I've ever done on perfect Chamonix granite.
Went for a little stroll on our first day out this year, and this is where we ended up.
Great introduction to climbing w/ crampons, and so easy to reach.
Fantastic route!! 50m crack is beautiful.
A must do route for the grade.
Fantastic little peak in great scenery ! With PD to F routes all within hour of midi station .
Start of our acclimatising process for a week in Alps.
Had the whole place to ourselves
been on this point on four different days. Nice views off the back.
