Trifecta out of lunch creek. Climbed Pollock second via the Great Cleft; super fun, well marked, route.
Pollock, Bishops Cap, Piegan all reached. Scree from the turnoff the pass trail. Great views of GNP, Garden Wall, and Logan Pass.

Piegan, Pollock, Bishop's Cap, and Oberlin for an epic "4 for the 4th." Hauled a grill up Oberlin for a sunset grill out. One of the most memorable days of the summer.
Hellacious winds on top. Wanted to do all three peaks but there was no way it would be safe in this wind. Rocks were being blown around. Oh well, got some exercise that day. Oh and Zaw from Mayanmar got to see snow for the first time :)
climbed with meetup.com group All Things Glacier
This was my first real mountaineering experience and had no idea it would nudge my life to where it is today. What a day it was! We were clouded in at the summit but I'll never forget chucking rocks off as far we could (on the undeveloped EAST side) into the great abyss that was the fog. I remember the feeling of true fascination with everything going on. From climbing up the protected chimney to gaining the summit from a sucky scree slope to sliding a majority of the way down on a massive snowfield and how could I forget slipping while climbing up the waterfall at the beginning and almost DYING on my first ever off trail mountain trek. Best part was, after descending from the summit block, we headed to the west ledge in hopes of a view and within moments the clouds tore apart and sun rays filled the entire valley the Going to the Sun Road follows up to the Garden Wall.
Took friends Michela, Joe, and Robert on their first GNP peak. A fresh dusting of snow the night before made it a little wet and slick but not dangerous. Gorgeous weather. My 3rd or 4th summit.
Had to go for Bishops Cap since we got fogged out last time. The views were hampered by thick smoke from regional forest fires but a unique perspective regardless. Climbed with J Hawes
Good for you. Whoot whoot
Started the climb with a co-worker but he ended it at the Great Cleft. Finished the rest with another climber found en route. A little snow in the cleft but very easy to climb. Super clear and windy at summit. Couldn't have asked for a better day for the views.
Lunch creek to the cleft, my first Mountaineering experience in GNP. Strong winds prevented an extended summit visit, and literally knocked us both off our feet on the saddle on our return. Snow storms were visibly punishing nearby peaks. With Mike M
Fun climb with GMS. Started up Lunch Creek and summited via the Great Cleft. Went over to Bishops Cap and down to the Highline trail, Logan Pass and walked the GTS Rd back to Lunch Creek. Good day for a climb in the Park.
2010 and 2011
2009 - w/ Anders Olson in combination with Bishop's Cap
2011 - solo, in combination with Cataract Mt. and Piegan Mt.
Climbed with Jessie from lunch creek up the great cleft route.
Peak two of the day with Colin and Jose. We descended Piegan's summit and approached Pollock via the Great Cleft Route. Awesome cleft, quite the squeeze! Once the summit was achieved we took an adventurous route from the saddle between Pollock and Bishops Cap down to the Highline Trail!
Fun climb through the couloir! So glad Sally ran up the trail to join me!
numerous times times to Pollock and Bishop's Cap. Saw my 1st wolverine here many yrs.ago
11 Aug 2012 with Bob Sihler - descent via the N Ridge then over to Bishops Cap
1 Sept 2004 with Moni Spicker, Ellen Ritt, and Vernon Garner via the Great Cleft Route. We were caught in a short but violent thunder storm on the summit. We sat it out without incident below the top and continued our traverse to Bishops Cap.
3 Aug 2002 solo (alone). Ascended and descended the North Ridge.
4 Aug 1979 with Bob Stephan as part of a traverse of Bishops Cap, Pollock and Piegan Mountains. Ascended the North Ridge and descended the SE Couloir Route - a little hard to find from the top not having come up that way.
Never found the Great Cleft. First year of climbing in Glacier--I guess I hadn't figured Edwards out yet.
