Pollock  Sucess!

Great climb with Luke Benson. Sadly, he was unable to summit due to bad cramps in certain painful areas. Fun crack climb!

Great cleft route  Sucess!

We took the great cleft route from lunch creek on a HOT July day. We work down in Saint Mary and wanted to do an after work peak. We arrived at the base and set off at about 6:15 pm. The whole mountain is allegedly 3000 feet gain over one mile and it felt like it too! It's a great scramble the whole way up with some interesting climbing mixed in. Once you make it to the saddle it's an easy ridge walk (with a trail) to the base of the "wall" where the cleft/chimney awaits which was the highlight for sure. Amazing views of the surrounding area and 2 peaks you can string together with it for a total of 3 off one climb

Four for the Fourth  Sucess!

7/4/17 w/Ryan Stadheim

Piegan, Pollock, Bishop's Cap, and Oberlin for an epic "4 for the 4th." Hauled a grill up Oberlin for a sunset grill out. One of the most memorable days of the summer.

Windy  Sucess!

Hellacious winds on top. Wanted to do all three peaks but there was no way it would be safe in this wind. Rocks were being blown around. Oh well, got some exercise that day. Oh and Zaw from Mayanmar got to see snow for the first time :)

Great Cleft Route  Sucess!

This was my first real mountaineering experience and had no idea it would nudge my life to where it is today. What a day it was! We were clouded in at the summit but I'll never forget chucking rocks off as far we could (on the undeveloped EAST side) into the great abyss that was the fog. I remember the feeling of true fascination with everything going on. From climbing up the protected chimney to gaining the summit from a sucky scree slope to sliding a majority of the way down on a massive snowfield and how could I forget slipping while climbing up the waterfall at the beginning and almost DYING on my first ever off trail mountain trek. Best part was, after descending from the summit block, we headed to the west ledge in hopes of a view and within moments the clouds tore apart and sun rays filled the entire valley the Going to the Sun Road follows up to the Garden Wall.

Fresh snow  Sucess!

Took friends Michela, Joe, and Robert on their first GNP peak. A fresh dusting of snow the night before made it a little wet and slick but not dangerous. Gorgeous weather. My 3rd or 4th summit.

Second Time  Sucess!

Had to go for Bishops Cap since we got fogged out last time. The views were hampered by thick smoke from regional forest fires but a unique perspective regardless. Climbed with J Hawes

Great Cleft Route  Sucess!

Started the climb with a co-worker but he ended it at the Great Cleft. Finished the rest with another climber found en route. A little snow in the cleft but very easy to climb. Super clear and windy at summit. Couldn't have asked for a better day for the views.

Pollock   Sucess!

Lunch creek to the cleft, my first Mountaineering experience in GNP. Strong winds prevented an extended summit visit, and literally knocked us both off our feet on the saddle on our return. Snow storms were visibly punishing nearby peaks. With Mike M

A Climb on the Garden Wall  Sucess!

Summer 2012

Peak two of the day with Colin and Jose. We descended Piegan's summit and approached Pollock via the Great Cleft Route. Awesome cleft, quite the squeeze! Once the summit was achieved we took an adventurous route from the saddle between Pollock and Bishops Cap down to the Highline Trail!
