Poon Hill  Sucess!

I'll never forget the view of the sun rising on Dhauligari. I took a black and white photo, blew it up and placed it next to an Ansel Adams in my living room. Oh, do I feel good when people ask if it's an Ansel Adams too.

Awesome!  Sucess!

Poon Hill is really just a bump on the way to the ABC. I trekked around Annapurna, climbed Poon Hill, then trekked to the Base Camp. There are excellent views of Machapuchare and Dhalagiri and other mountains, although Dhalagiri and Machapuchare are so incredible on their own that you won't look at anything else. The ease and affordability of tea-house trekking in Nepal is one of the great secrets of our world.

Spectaculer sunrise from Poon Hill. Very crowded, but still amazing. Did in 1 day what most groups took 2 days to do.

Long Trek  Sucess!

A great trip. Spent 22 days on a long trek: Naya Pul to Poon Hill, Dhalagiri Base Camp, Jomsom, Paudwar, Annapurna Base Camp, etc, etc. We were supposed to climb a peak, but Kim got pregnant after we bought our plane tickets, so any serious climbing was out. At five months pregnant, she still completed all of the above (348 kms/216 miles) of trekking anyway. It was a great trip.
