Spent a fun day tagging a bunch of easy peaks in the Greenhorn Mtns. Trip Report.
On the way to Sunday Peak. Finding the summit area was not difficult but getting to the true highpoint could be a hellish bushwhack. I got to a rock that was not quite the highest and while looking for a route to a higher rock, I looked down a saw the register. So, lacking inclination to bushwhack over to the higher point, I called it a success. Not much in the way of views on the way up or from the top so I would pass on this one.
Bushwhacked to the peak. Not sure if there is an easier route.
After Sunday Peak we went to Portuguese Peak (7914') which is about ½ mile with an elevation gain of approximately 500 feet. We were going to look for the elusive spring again between Sunday and Portuguese Peak, but we decided not to. We did a good job also of staying left and avoiding the extensive bushwhacking potential of this peak.
