Poskok ( Nose-horned Viper )...

Poskok (Nose-horned Viper) is most venomous snake that lives on Velebit. It does not attack but will bite if you accidentally step on it. Its poison can kill humans. In the cold part of the year they are in hibernation. Mostly you'll see them on the rocky seaboard side of Velebit.

Re: Great!!

Thanks man! I had lot of encounters with them. Once I went towards it with a stick and it bit it, leaving two wet spots from the poison. Then it proceeded angrily under a nearby rock :-)

From which distance you took this photo? Zoom?

Re: Impressive!

Actually not zoom but macro because I was close. Distance was some 50cm. Mr viper was very still, carefully observing what is happening, I slowly approached and got it before it decided to go away :-)
