Beautiful blue bird day to snowshoe up the east ridge of Pratt via the Pratt Lake / Granite Mountain trailhead. Trip report here.
Beautiful clear day with snow on the ground. Snowy scramble.
Fun hike with Gimpilator and crew.
Needed to strap on the snowshoes after the turnoff for Pratt Lake/Island Lake. Not treacherous going up the bolder field in the shallow snow. Totally worth the haul.
Finally did this one after many years putting it off.
Mild temps and swift travel up the trail. Brush wasn't quite full foliage yet, so bush-whacking went relatively easy.
Hike from Talapus/Ollallie lakes, then uphill via brushbash to meet Pratt Lake Trail.
Not the ideal hike for summer but it gave us a peak on a rainy day.
snowshoe via Granite Mtn TH. beautiful day.
I've been up many times. Easy boulder climb from the south in summer More interesting as a winter snowshoe trip. The one big step can be an easy walk up or a deal breaker from year to year.
Nice place, worth a visit. Trail map at http://www.willhiteweb.com/snoqualmie_pass/pratt_mountain/talapus_lake_234.htm
Total sunshine all day long. Several friends from both OSAT and NWHikers.net were a part of this trip. Some of the usual suspects included Greg, Alexei, Anna, and Ben. It did get windy until we were on the ridge top above Olallie Lake. There was a constant push of 20 miles an hour with sustained gusts reaching 40 to 45 miles an hour. This eventually forced us to drop down below the ridge top. I have to say it's the best view of Kaleetan Peak I've seen.
beautiful fall day with no snow
Scrambled up this easy summit and spent about an hour basking in the sun. About 20 minutes from the trail.
Started from Granite Mtn trailhead, did Granite, Tusk O Granite and Pratt. Great fun! Awesome views, beautiful day.
Hiked while doing a traverse of Pratt to Granite. Nice summit, much less crowded than Granite.
The boulder scramble was not too technical, and I actually thought that it was fun to climb. The "false summit" offers very scenic views. Highly recommended summit-climb.
