Buffalo Peak

Buffalo Peak is located between Squaw Peak and Cascade Mountain? Do you know how it received its name?

Re: Buffalo Peak

Yes, Buffalo Peak is the small little bump you see in this picture just north of Squaw Peak. It's actually about 300 feet taller than Squaw Peak, but doesn't have the dramatic overlook. There is a trail that leads to the top of Buffalo Peak, which is about a mile RT from Squaw Peak Rd.

As far as the origin of Buffalo Peak, I don't know how it received the name. I certainly haven't seen any buffaloes around it! I found out it was called Buffalo Peak from a book called Sixty Hikes within Sixty Miles of Salt Lake City.
