Pumice Dweller

Pumice Dweller

The gray pumice in the Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument holds much more life than I had expected. This butterfly actually had a huge amount of wildflowers to feed from, something I did not expect.

Interesting ...

This is a fine specimen of the Checkerspot
butterfly. Somebody once told me,
"Butterflies have very short lives."

Re: Nice butterfly!

It was kind of lazy... I'm glad it let me get a picture of it.
