Nice photos and info!
I'm curious about the class 6 route though...
Thanks! I'm kind of new at this. Any help is appreciated .
In the US, routes are generally rated on the Yosemite Decimal System. They go up to class 5, and things beyond that get decimal ratings like 5.8, 5,9, etc, up to about 5.14 (and even some letter designations like 5.14c), but there is no class 6 that I know of. Sort of like having an "11" setting on the stereo's volume control knob. :)
(Actually the link above refers to class 6 as aid climbing, but that isn't really part of the YDS, and has it's own set of ratings.)
Nice to see some Northern Sierra mountains.
Good info. Pyramid has a nice view from the top!
The latitude shown on the page is wrong. It should be 38 48N. Obvious since 38 84 can't exist.
Thank you Squishy. It was a lot of work.
Jason, I've hike this mountain 20+ times. You've done a great job with this page. Nicely done!
the peak of my youth.....long hikes from Horsetail Falls without enough water and snacks....no wonder I got rubber-legged and wobbly. I always marveled at the south view too, and would fixate on Round Top and the Mokeluomene (spelled wrong) Peak.
