Nice morning jaunt.
This was the first 14er my wife and I climbed. We had a great time and are planning another one for a few weeks from now.
7/9/11- w/james, climbed inwood arete(5.4) on the north face under the constant threat of thunderstorms which never came to fruition. wasn't as hard as i hoped for, yet it was a great day to start off the alpine tech season.
1/27/08- w/jamie, mike, sarah and dominic, very windy day for a winter summit. nice group outing until 13,100' when sarah and i put our heads and finished off the trial out front. wind break on the summit was a well-deserved treat.
10/16/04- hiked w/ Michelle. this was an easy hike, but didn't have snowshoes which ended up being a problem above 12,500 feet. lots of ice and snow.
My first 14er!
Great day out...too close to Breckenridge, where I lived at the time, not to climb.
Climbed with my husband, Ed.
Payback for a failed attempt in May '04. Fun time, 3rd CO 14er.
Started at 10:45 because I figured I could get to the top in 2 hours and not have to worry about weather. Couldn't believe how many people were on this mountain. Total time 3 hours.
The peak was still deep with snow in late spring. snowshoes would have made the going much easier. It was a great hike on one of my favorite mountains.>>Oh to be in Summit County!
Excellent hike with beautiful, crisp weather on the way up. The wild flowers seemed to be everywhere. It was wild and windy at the summit as the dark grey clouds moved in around 11:30AM.
A lot of electricity on the summit! My axe was starting to buzz and we made a quick descent. Very straightforward route.
Wonderful trip...ran out of daylight 600 feet from the summit. Still a beautiful climb and great day with my friends.
My first 14er. Not bad. Not that much fun either. Great view. Weather was iffy and it started snowing at the top.
First 14er and first ski descent from the exact summit. Could of skinned all the way to the top but my skins are not wide enough so had to hike up. Great view and fun ski.
Did the West Ridge from Blue Lakes side. We parked at the snow closure due to our descent of the East Ridge route--no snow in Cristo Couloir for a glissade in September. Boo. Looking forward to Inwood Arete, summer 2005.
Did the east ridge in the winter. . .fun, eneventful slogg.
Got totally lost on Inwood. Made it to the knife edge, soloed up a chimney and cut left. . .from there it was nothing but scary choss climbing to the top. Nice to top out as the sun was going down. We were greated by mountain goats.
My first mountain climb. Didn't know what to expect, but been hooked on climbing ever since.
My first 14er! Ski decent was great!
An absolutely gorgeous day to hike, followed by the most amazing site at the summit!! A well-versed "mountain" man at the summit gave us a verbal "tour" of our surroundings- counting out & naming 30 14ers that we could clearly see from the top!!! We even had a little fun on the way down:-) We had met 3 other people at the top, & we decided to head down the backside- by glasading on trash bags! ...at a very fast rate might I add:-) Do this hike, it's incredible!
