Quetrupillán  Sucess!

This area of Patagonia is dominated by lakes and volcanoes, many of which are very active. Because if the current eruption danger Kessler and I weren't allowed to climb Villarrica (our original plan) so we climbed Quetrupillán instead. Since a guide is required for Villarrica, we already had one arranged, but we didn't really need one for Quetrupillán. It was still a good trip and we got some good glissades in on the way down.

The mountains in Patagonia have a bad reputation for stormy weather, but we were lucky enough to have clear skies and great views. The weather was too warm though which made the snow climbing a bit more challenging than usual. Quetrupillán is a pretty basic snow climb though (similar to the standard route on Mt. Hood so it wasn't bad at all). We did it for a warm up for the much harder peaks we will attempt in a few days.
