Painted Lady at Rae Lakes

Brings back fond memories of Rae Lakes, one of the prettiest places on my trek. I wouldn't have anticipated spotting a rattlesnake ascending Glen Pass.

The rattlesnake was very unusual, according to a park ranger. It was suggested it might have been due to unusual weather that year. I gotta tell you, I was surprised to see it because that picture is just along the trail going up along a well used trail; it made us awefully cautious in passing around as far and as high away on the other side as we could. As for Rae Lakes, it really is a nice place to visit.
