The view from the Luxmore hut is rewarding, especially when mother nature throws in a stunning rainbow, one of many we've seen during our stay in New Zealand.

Thanks for the comment! About the pot of gold, I couldn't be bothered to descend all the way back to the lake again, it was too nice up there!

Nice shot

This brings out memories. I stayed in that hut for two nights in may 2000, with just one other tramper. It was a little spooky being just the two of us in that immense hut (at least for NZ standards)...

The Luxmore hut is massive yeah, must be strange being there almost alone. I was there over christmas, so it was reasonably quiet luckily and the track not too crowded.

In fact there appear to be 34 rainbows on SP, gathered in an album. I've attached this shot to it as well, the album should now show up on the side. Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Kenzo! It is a good place for rainbows, I've seen many more pictures of rainbows from this particular spot. Too bad that I didn't have a better camera back then, will have to go back some day :-)
