Rare August snow

Rare August snow

A cut-off low pressure system centered over Colorado during August brought snow to the higher elevations of the state, and in this area snow levels were at roughly 12,000 ft. This unusual weather event exemplifies the fine line and quickness of weather changes in the high country. The snow covered summit of Trinchera Peak was shot from the chapel in Cuchara August 18.
