Rattlesnake on Rae Lakes Trail

This rattlesnake was right on the trail of the Rae Lakes Loop, at about 8300 ft., heading N toward Glen Pass. The picture was taken in late June of 2008. Upon completing the Rae Lakes Loop, a ranger suggested it was not common to see a rattlesnake at such high elevation, but things were a lit off that year due to the weather and water situation.
