I like this photo
I like that you like. ;)
If a person were to spend just one,
perhaps two nights in Kanab ...
well ...... the opportunities are
ENDLESS. There's so much to SEE!!!
Tanya? Just a suggestion, you might
want to include a DATE beneath your
photos. In this way, you are creating
an accurate "time frame," just in case
someone else is interested in planning
a trip or TRIP REPORT. Thanks, Tanya!
Is better. I am 17 miles from Kanab, 12 miles from Zion, 60 miles from Bryce, 85 miles from North Rim, 45 miles from Cedar Breaks.... I live in heaven. :)
Oh .... my GOD! Anyway, I notice
that you have a FAST computer, and
that's even BETTER. I'm running on
a QUEST MODEM myself, out of
beautiful downtown Payson, Arizona!
I have never been to Payson. I need to go one of these days. :) I forgot that I am only 9 miles from the entrance to the Grand Staircase too!
Tanya, you seem to be an intelligent, well-
informed, delightful, popular, friendly
and brave person! Can you please tell
me ... what ROCK is this???
Is it Mount Carmel? Little Mt. Carmel???
~blush~ How sweet :)
If it's taken near my house it must be sandstone of course. ;) --- but I am so bad at looking at part of something and telling exactly where it is from... but BO is great at it! In Mt. Carmel there is of course the Carmel Layer -- you can see along Highway 89 the White Cliffs of the Grand Staircase ---- but that looks really red --- I can't think of anything really close to Mt. Carmel that looks like that? I bet Bo can though. ;)
What I said still goes! I'll put
it in the "unidentified rocks"
album, or maybe "mountaingazelle"
can tell me. I hate to bother Bo!
He's probably making a purchase of
a winter parka or a pair of crampons
to somebody ... Or perhaps some trail
mix or a power bar. Take care!
~laughing~ I am sure it's here, but as I said I am bad at that stuff. ;p
Okay... I bugged Bo. He does not know either. ;p -- unless it's Diana's Throne from the rear? It must be more towards Kanab with all the red rock. Does this look familiar at all? There is just not a lot of rock that red around here unless you go toward Kanab.
Diana's Throne is 3 mile from Mt. Carmel Jct., across Highway 9 from the entrance to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes -- but from the front it is whitish rock with red splashes on the bottom.
Diana's Throne is an awesome chuck of
rock. I'm thinking about further north
on Hwy 89, like between Circleville and
Salina. I would of had to get out of the
car to take the picture, and I don't
remember getting out in Kanab.
Maybe I should call it "Hillary's Throne."
: - )
Well Dang! That's nowhere near Mt. Carmel ;p --- I don't usually venture that way often. I think Hillary's Throne is nice. Did she throw herself off it, like Diana did because the view was so spectacular?
my education didn't go that far!
We need to ask Doctor Phil. He
needs to redeem himself, after his
unsuccessful episode with Britney,
and his termination from Sp.
I am not in the Know! I am a newbie and not up on the sp gossip. ~lauging~ Here's to happiness for Birney and Doctor Phil. ;)
I will look along the highway on the next trip that way for my daughers basketball games. She should have a few games that way in the next couple of weeks. :)
