Red Hot Pokers
Red Hot Pokers
..at least that is the name we gave these plants. I took the photo whilst trekking between the campsites of Sankaber and Geech in the Simien mountains of Ethiopia. The cliffs in the photo form part of the beautiful Northern escarpment of the Simiens. I took the photo in late October 2002, which is immediately after the rainy season.
