Melinda ...What is the name of the tall peak (10,718')
located directly to the east of Lower Red
Pine Lake?
Does it have a name, or is it just the highest point on the rock ridge between Red Pine and White Pine lakes ???

Re: Melinda ...On most maps Peak 10,718 is named Thunder Mountain. That is what I have always known it as. The mountain is more popular with backcountry skiers than hikers. The name Lake Peak was given to it for obvious reasons. It is sometimes called Pink Pine Peak too. Dan has a page for it Here

Re: Melinda ...Thanks Dan! It was a nice day. I don’t think the name Thunder Mountain is used that much. Maybe we have enough thunder mountains in the Wasatch already. Lake Peak seems to be what most people prefer.

ah memoriesI slept over in those trees on the right, experimenting with a Hennessey Hammock. Probably the coldest night ever since I didn't know that I had insufficient insulation under me. Nice nice pic.

Re: ah memoriesThanks Dean! I had actually planned on doing a longer hike but an afternoon thunderstorm was moving in. There was a really pretty reflection in the lake. I usually see people camping in the area you were at. It may not be so fun if you’re freezing!
