2 hours to Redcloud, not bad given Sneffels and El Diente-Wilson traverse in the preceding two days. Gorgeous views of the next objectives, Wetterhorn and Unconpahgre!

Red Indeed
From Sunshine to Redcloud the rock becomes really really red. I bet this mountain is pretty in the green summer.

we're calling this late may?
2/15/14- suffered over to redcloud after the hike up sunshine. i'm glad to have finally closed the loop on this mountain. #57/100 winter
5/21/11- climbed redcloud w/steve after two tough days chasing summits across a snowpack in silver creek drainage that felt distinctly mid-april like.
jim and i tried for UN 13,832 on day 1, but the combination of never ending snow drifts, high winds, low visibility and scary cornices chased us away. fortunately we were smart enough to break a trail down from the 13,020 saddle below redcloud.
the next day steve and i slogged back up silver creek. we found bits and pieces of the previous day's trail along the way, especially on the slopes leading to the saddle. this helped immensely! a resurgence of winter's wrath gripped us above the pass, but we were game for the worst and pushed onto the summit. the end feeling was pure bliss!
Did this with Sunshine. a classic picture perfect day!

San Juans Backpacking
Done along with 5 other 14ers during a week long backpacking trip in the San Juans. Bagged Sunshine and Redcloud with my little brother as his first 14ers.

Redcloud and Sunshine
Redclound and Sunshine in the morning. Saw an elk at 14,000 feet, which I thought was odd. Attempted Handies after, but got stormed out. Bagged Handies the next day.

Beautiful Approach
Started at 4:30am from the Silver Peak route. We were worried about weather becuase it started to rain at around sunrise. The weather then cleared and it became a gorgous day. We got to the summit at around 8:30am. Then we went and tagged Sunshine. We had planned on doing Sun Dog, but the weather began to roll in. We then hung out in the old moraine below Sunshine for about and hour and half. These two peaks were my first summits in the San Juans and 14'ers 19 and 20! BEAUTIFUL area! Cant wait to come back
This was sort of an unofficial meetup.com hike. Some of the group decided to head back to Denver, but the rest of us climbed the peaks. I think this was a little easier than Handies, but it was still pretty tough. I was the last of the group to reach the top. We rested a bit, then headed over to Sunshine.
