Nice hike, great weather day!
This was sort of an unofficial meetup.com hike. Some of the group decided to head back to Denver, but the rest of us climbed the peaks. I think this was a little easier than Handies, but it was still pretty tough. I was the last of the group to reach the top. We rested a bit, then headed over to Sunshine.
Really windy near the summit and crossing over to Sunshine. Hey I did it twice in one day!
It was a pretty nice day in the area untill the winds picked up on the summit of redcloud then the winds got worse on the traverse to sunshine. I did enjoy the summit of redcloud the most because of the red color.
From 13832 and 13811 to Redcloud, then down via Sunshine and Sundog. 6:45 RT
Hiked the three from the Silver Creek Trailhead with my girlfriend Meghan. Awesome views of Wetterhorn Peak, Matterhorn Peak, and Uncompahgre Peak. I first climbed Redcloud Peak in August of 2006 with my friend Keith but we got stormed off before reaching Sunshine Peak.
nice hike - weathered off my Sunshine attempt, though.
NE Ridge; summer 2006.
Wonderful fall day.
Took a late turn on what we thought was the ridge leading to "Sundog" and Sunshine but ended up on the shoulder of Redcloud and eventually the summit. Descending our intended route the turn off from the main trail was covered in avalanche debris and that's why we missed it on the way up.
great group hike with WSC college students.
3rd 14er in 3 days. From the Silver Creek TH with Mountain Girl.
Beautiful if you like 50 MPH winds!
From Silver Creek via Sun Dog Peak/Ridge to Sunshine and Redcloud.
Climbed with Sunshine via the North Slopes from Lake San Cristobal Road. A pleasant hike throught the San Juan highlands to Redcloud's colorful summit. As storm clouds continued to move in, we rested on the summit for only a few minutes before beginning the traverse over to Sunshine.
together with Sunshine, easy hike.
Climbed Redcloud via Silver Creek Trail. Continued to Sunshine and returned back over Redcloud. Nice hike, great views of San Juans!
I was very young - notable memory: Suzuki Samari going over 40 mph on the road which pissed my dad off quite a bit... :)
Very beautiful part of Colorado!
Beautiful climb. Can't wait to get back to the San Juans.
