Re: Vee LakeI couldn't agree more. That was my all time favorite backpacking trip. We came up the East Fork, visited every one of the Bear Lakes during 12 days, and exited back to the JMT via the Hilgard Branch. That is beautiful country!

great spotOn my last visit to that basin, took several strong 4x5 Provia images from shoreline spots along the rocky peninsula that look much like your fine pic. My favorite was however not from there but back at the meadow in the north arm. But this perspective shows off the impressive face of the north peak better.
