Retreating

Further up, the ledge narrowed and I wasn't confident I could safely make the move, so I retreated. Photo by Dave Didier The summit of Hawksbill Mountain is filled with plenty of ledges and cliffs that allow for some great scrambling opportunities. Damned...

nice shot. I live less than a two-hour drive away, and have visited the Gorge too many times to list. But I have NEVER been on Hawksbill. Not once!

Re: Damned...

We combined it with Sitting Bear, which makes for a pretty easy day with LOTS of killer scenery. I plan on putting up a separate TR for the whole weekend so you'll see how we spent the day(s).

I've heard...

of the Linville Gorge. Don't remember if it was from you or a climbing buddy of mine down in OK. Great shot, Mark! Especially as a profile pic.

Re: I've heard...

Thanks Kiefer. The exposure wasn't as bad as the pic makes it appear. But the fall factor was still there!
