Steep scramble  Sucess!

Hiked up the slopes to the west of the crag and stepped out onto the summit platform. Returned by the maze on the eastern side of the pillar. If memory serves it was the second time I was on that crag.

WESTLICHE KESSELWAND  Sucess!

In this very cloudy, but cool agreable sunday, the 13th of september 2009, I was at the Westliche Kesselwand, a remarkable sandstone pillar, located 300 meters at the east of the Rindsberg Westpfeiler ! The site was very spectacular, as seen from his base ... With a total height of almost 50 meters, is the site very strong and big ! Two climbers were climbing the site, when I walked in the direction of the summit ... Speaking about the summit, in a few words : the summital plateau of the Westliche Kesselwand, was absolutely perfect, totally savage and preserved and the panorama was very beautiful ! Trifels on the left, Rindsberg Westpfeiler and Spirkelbach on the right, Höllenberg and Ferkelstein straight of me ! And the site was too and too calm, cool, comfortable ... Thanks to the Pfaelzer-Kletterer members, who have contribute, to degage and to clean the site ! But, warning, because : between the 1st february and the 1st july of the year, is the Westliche Kesselwand, closed to the public (peregrines nestings and breedings) ... Hikers and climbers will so, not being authorized, to come on this rock, in this period ! Good to know, for all the SP's users ! Bye, by the next !!!

WESTPFEILER RINDSBERG  Sucess!

I discover this rock, with the two Weiherwände (small and tall) ! But here, on the Rindsberg Westpfeiler, was the ascent to the summit harder, longer, steeper ... Too much flora, very steep slopes, dense forest : it wasn't a big pleasure ... And when I was on the summit, it was too boring : the trees, small pines, were totally broken, at the floor ! But an interesting panorama is offer from there : Westliche Kesselwand on the left and Weiherwände on the right, Spirkelbach and Rauhberg in the background ! And the height of the rock was terrifying, with almost 45 meters ... For finishing this message, you have to know, that the site is well good known and frequented by the climbers and boulderers. The bases are too and too frequented, as contrary as the (very savage ! ) summit ... But for me, on a rock, my favourites are evidently, the summital part and the panorama !
