"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Roan LoopA great early spring hike. Did it as part of a 12-mile "loop" along with Roan High Bluff and Grassy Ridge Bald. The trail was a bit tricky with a lot of ice on the trail. In wet weather much of the trail up from Carvers Gap doubles as a small stream, which when I went was frozen. There was also a small bit of snow in places near the summit from the 12"+ we had the week before. A nice hike, I love the northern feel of this mountain.

Route Climbed: AT Date Climbed: January 25, 2006It was a very cold day and night (10 degrees at night) and windy. Made the summit and spent the night in the shelter. The shelter was very drafty and it snowed that night. Other than that, the hike was great. Wish there were more views.

Route Climbed: AT from Carvers Gap Date Climbed: June 6, 2004It was a warm hazy early June day in the East. The Rhododendrons above 4,000 ft were in blume and the crowds did not seems to be too terribly thick.
We had the shelter and the summit to ourselves.
Went on to climb Roan High Bluff before returning.
