Gorgeous winter day
Climbed straight up Giant then hoofed it over to Rocky. Trail was well broken out. Blue skies. 360 view. Micro spikes the entire way. Could have left the snowshoes at home. Gorgeous day.

Rocky Ridge to Giant Mt - hike through, Hot day
Gorgeous day, but really hot. Bugs were unrelenting. 14+ miles
Rocky Ridge has magnificent views right from the get go. Started in New Russia and continued past Rocky Ridge to Giant and came down to Roaring Brook parking lot. Coordinated cars. Nice hike, would happily do it again, but leave the dog at home.

With Giant
Almost skipped this peak but got talked into on Giant summit. The decent over was slick rock but great views at top of a Rocky and glad to nab another 46er

Clear winter day
Hiked through the "saddle" from Giant Mountain for a twofer. Quick elevation gain made traction devices (or snowshoes) a must.

Greatest view ever?
This peak is awesome. The trail from Giant is quite technical. Greatest view in the ADK imo.

Came over from Giant
One of my favorite views in the ADKS and a great day to bag two peaks.

Giant & Rocky Ridge Peak
Combined Giant with Rocky Ridge Peak for a nice dayhike with some awesome views!!
The descent from Giant is significant. 1000 ft. or more. Going up Rocky Peak from the "valley" is fairly easy going, however the return to Giant is a beast. I loved the summit view of Giant as well as of the ridge leading up from New Russia. I will hike this again from NR in the future.

2nd summit of the day
Took forty four minutes from the summit of Giant Mountain to the summit here. The trail here was much softer and easier than the grind up Giant. Good views, especially to the lake in the east. Did it with Bob from CT, who at age 55, had eleven years on me and he set a pace that was right at the limits of my ability.

This is a great hike and combined with Giant, makes for a full day of hiking with two great peaks with even greater view. A must do

Rough, but fun hike
Hiked Rocky Peak Ridge 4420' after ascending its neighbor Giant Mountain. Challenging hike due to a steep, wet trail descending to the col between the two mountains. Low visibility made the summit uninteresting. Had to back track back down the col and up the steep section of Giant we had descended earlier. Was very slippery and muddy and made the trek much longer than was expected, forcing us to hike the last hour in the dark with headlamps (We got lost at one point and our group of 4 turned into 2 groups of 2) It was a successful trip regardless of the conditions/visibility and a slight navigation issue.

Giant and Rocky Peak Ridge
Laurence and I left Montreal at 8 o'clock, after deciding to go buy some micro spikes at the Mountaineer in Keene. (It was worth it, especially for RPR). We made it to the summit of Giant by the Zander Scott trail. We had the fortunate surprise of meeting our friend Genevieve lounging on the summit with 2 friends. They wanted to do Hopkins Mt, but we were set on doing RPR. We parted ways after un small lunch. The descend to the col between Giant and RPR was icy, microspikes helped a lot. We were back at the car around 6 PM. Sunny skies all day.
Hitched a ride from Chapel Pond TH to New Russia TH and took the East Trail up over Bald Mtn past Lake Luise to RPR with great views along the way, almost made us forget the 5000+ ft climb! Visited Giant and descended to Chapel Pond as the sun set behind the Mtns, a great day.
