Rocky section on Tasch-Dom traverse

Tasch-Dom traverse, Switzerland in 1986. This section of the ridge was like trying to climb near vertical piles of loosely stacked dinner plates - with a 3000ft drop on both sides.

Re: What a ridge!

It is an incredible ridge - please see my newly created Route page "Tasch-Dom Traverse"...

And yes, 1986 was a good year: we did some fantastic routes of which the Tasch-Dom was the finest.

You look to have made a few great climbs yourself! I have seen some of your Eiger postings.

Best wishes, Mark

Re: Sounds Scary at best...

Thanks Xue - we were a little bit scared then - today I'd be scared out of my mind! I stick to easy routes now.

Great!

You took this picture in 1986? So it was not with a digital camera? I'm impressed!
Cheers,
Eric

Re: Great!

Thanks Eric - again appreciate the comments from so accomplished a photographer as you!
Yes, not digital - but quite a good Pentax, back in the days when I still understood a little bit of photography. I often used slide film, which is fortunate since slides (if kept well) seem to convert to digital quite well - as this has done. I guess negatives may have done - but who remembers to keep all their negatives safe over 25 years?!
Cheers, Mark
