To paraphrase Mallory: '...it's there, so ya might as well do it.' Good view of Telescope.
Gratuitously tagged on the way back from Telescope. Up and over Bennett - Up Rogers from Arcane Meadows then down the E ridge to rejoin my party on the telescope trail.
Less impressive than Telescope, but great views nonetheless. We could clearly see the Sierra crest and snow on top of Mt. Charleston to the east.
Hiked up from Mahogany Flat.
Nothing particularly redeeming about either of these peaks.
Bagged both on the return leg from Telescope.
Pics and commentary here.
I went up the service road to the top of Rogers, then over to Telescope and up Bennett on the way out. I wish I'd gone back up to the service road on Rogers to finish the descent out as the regular trail seemed to go on forever on the way out. I had perfect weather conditions but I saw no one else on the mountain.
After Telescope Peak, I hiked up Bennett Peak and then up Rogers Peak and down the service road.
On the way to Telescope.
Went up via the service road to Roger's Pk, descended onto the main trail and continued to Telescope Pk, then went up and over Bennett Pk on the way back. This route made for a fantastic climb.
Gate was closed at Charcoal Kilns due to snow. We snowshoed up Bennett, then Telescope, then Rogers on the way back. We went down the north side of Rogers and glissaded down a gully back to the road and walked the rest of the way back to the Charcoal Kilns. Good day, great views of Spring Mountains and Sierra Nevada. Perfect!
From the kilns, still a fair amount of snow, used the snowshoes for a bit. SO windy! Was back in fall of 2008 to finally get Telescope, too.
Tagged on the way back from Telescope. Hey, I was already up there...
Did a Telescope, Rogers, Bennett Loop. Loved those charcoal kilns.
This year it was my turn to be the "support crew" for a Badwater-to-Telescope group, so I was to meet them at the 9900' climbout.
I took the time for quick trips over Bennett and Rogers. Little did I know that interesting part of the day was just starting. I ended up dropping down to 7200' to deliver supplies. We got back to 9900' at sunset, and just turned right without hitting the Telescope summit; in short order it was quite dark. The other folks made 26.5 miles and 10400' elevation that day. So I guess I'm a guy who did Bennett and Rogers WITHOUT Telescope.
went up Rogers after Telescope. Lotsa human research junk hangin' out on the summit.
Bagged these two on the way out from Telescope. A nice 3-peak day.
Did anyone climb these without climbing Telescope?
Hard to believe this one has a separate page on summit post...
This was a nice fallback to getting pushed back from Telescope. The views were great either way.
