Roman Nose Peak Marker (OR)

Roman Nose peak is not a very exciting place to visit. Mainly a road drive with just a bit of a hike at the end, Roman Nose is one of those places that you visit only because it is on a list, not for any other reason. Man made structures dominate the top area. At least that is the way I look at a few of these prominence peaks. Normally you get a view that is incredible but this one is limited to the east / southeast. Trees block the view in all other directions. This marker is about as exciting as it got for me on the visit to this peak. The highest spot was located behind a fence which you can get to without climbing over the fence by doing an end around. You will find the high spot if you look for it. Another little marker is also found on the edge of the ridgeline. 9-3-06
