Approach

You start the hike from the Car park just off the B4405 between The Minffordd Hotel and Tal -y-llyn Lake, there are Toilets and information in the Car Park, from here the trail starts in the bottom left hand corner of the Car Park next to the Toilet Block.

Route Description

You start along an avenue of tree's and over a brook to a gate, the path is very clear and straight forward. You then go through another gate and start walking up the steps through the woods of Minffordd, this can become quite warm work so soon after leaving the car,and you start to gain height quite quickly, after this the path becomes more gradual and it's a pleasant walk uo to Llyn Cau here there is a large rock/slab in which to have a play on or simply take in the views of the mountain. Here head left up more steps and onto the ridge above where you will have a beautiful view south of Corris and the Cambrian Mountains, bear right and follow the Ridge line up to Craig Cwm Amarch, here take a moment to look at the horseshoe of Cadair,i believe this is the best spot to look from, head over the style and drop down into the saddle of Bwlch Cau and head onward's up to the Summit Rock's.
