Approach

Col of ArgibielaCol of Argibiela

The trailhead of this mountain are the little col of argibiela (or col de los navarros, 1295m), border of provinces of Aragón and Navarra in the road of Zuriza from Isaba (13km from Isaba). From Pamplona to Isaba you must follow the road N-240 (indication to Jaca). After Isaba we follow the signal of Zuriza to the parking before the descent to Zuriza.

Route Description

Slope: 770m.
Time to summit: 2h15min (total: 4h)
Ridge NEEzkaurre

In the little parking of col of Argibiella you must to follow the marks red and white of the path GR-11 a few of meters in the descent of the road in direction to Zuriza (in the right side of road). Into the forest the path is very clear to border the Punta Abizondo (1676m) for the left side. We follow the marks of paint red and white in the trees (GR-11). After a little descent the path has an important slope across the forest to reach the col of Abizondo (1638m, 1h) across some zig-zags. In this point you can see 2 paths (the right it's for reach the summit of P.Abizondo) but you can see the paint marks in the left side. After some meters we leave the forest and we see the limestone rocks in the final ramp. This ramp has a little path among the smooth rocks in zig-zag. After this hard ramp of the hillside (1875m, 1h40min) we reach the wide upper side and the path turn to the left side little by little. In this area you can't see path, it's a wide area with karts and stones (like irregular stairs) but the plain is crowed with the signal of stone (vertex) of the summit.
The descent is across the same route (a little impressive for some people in the area of smooth rocks lightly slippery and not advisable at all if they are wet)

Essential Gear

Boots. Canes for the descent.
In winter crampons and ice-axe (slope of 30º in the ramp)
