Approach
Directions from Arco
Drive north on Highway 93 for 18 miles until reaching Pass Creek Summit Road. Take this improved dirt road 8.7 miles until reaching Bear Creek and Bear Creek Road.
Take the unnmarked road left (west), for 1.5 miles to the mouth of the canyon and the trailhead. This road is rough in spots and narrow, a four-wheel drive is best. Park at the trailhead for Bear Lake.
Route Description (Warren Mountain Saddle)
Route Stats
From the trailhead area, take the Bear Creek Trail up stream for about one miles until coming to a junction. Going left will head to Bear Lake and righ goes to the saddle between Octoberfest Peak and Warren Mountain.
Go right and follow the steep trail another mile until reaching the high saddle below Octoberfest. Leave the trail and bushwhack through thick alpine forests to the west about 300' until gaining a high ridgeline.
At this point the rest of the route is in view. Continue west up the ridgeline to Pt. 10,400' to the south of Octoberfest Peak. This climbs 1,000' in over half a mile but is an easy scramble on loose rock without any climbing required.
From Pt. 10,400', turn north and follow the gentle slopes to the summit.

Route Description (Bear Creek Lake)
From the same trailhead as above, hike 1 mile to the aforementioned junction but take the left fork to Bear Creek Lake.
The moderately steep Bear Creek Lake Trail reaches the lake in about 1.25 miles.
Contour around the lake to the draw leading in from the north. Scramble up the draw on loose footing to the high basin to the southwest of Octoberfest Peak.
Hike almost to the saddle between Octoberfest and Peak 11,308 (Hidden Peak) to avoid any rotten cliffs. Once the terrain looks good above, follow the broad face to the summit.
Essential Gear
No essential gear is required for these two variations. However, if attempting in spring or fall, a back ice axe or pair crampons couldnt hurt.
